Hunting Lodge presents its first ever sale.

A few years back(?) in the US you could pick up a halloween costume for the kids off the rack at the convenience store. The costume comprised of a plastic mask and a printed plastic bag to wear over the body. Halloween is a real big deal in the US with everybody getting involved. I guess these were perfect for a busy lifestyle/lack of creativity types who want to be involved. I love the look of these and you can see where streetwear brands might have got some of their influences from. Check the Jaws, Flintstones, Cookie Monster, Planet of the Apes, the list goes on.
Going out dressed as a Asteroid or flipper is always going to be fun although the Village People one would be an interesting call in the school I went to.

Every once in a while in Oslo something comes around that is a must see event or happening. This screening trumps all those other events put together. Norway’s No 1 website Kjefta! have put together one the most culturally relevant events of the year.
As you can tell we are excited about this here at HL. Just having that poster on our blog gets us pumped.

Synopsis
In the early 1990′s a loose-knit group of likeminded outsiders found common ground at a little NYC storefront gallery. Rooted in the DIY (do-it-yourself) subcultures of skateboarding, surf, punk, hip hop & graffiti, they made art that reflected the lifestyles they led. Developing their craft with almost no influence from the “establishment” art world, this group, and the subcultures they sprang from, have now become a movement that has been transforming pop culture. Starring a selection of artists who are considered leaders within this culture, Beautiful Losers focuses on the telling of personal stories. It speaks to themes of what happens when the outside becomes “in” as it explores the creative ethos connecting these artists and today’s youth.

A while back we had a little launch party instore for the HL X Whiteout tee. With the store full of Norwegian ‘pillars of the community’ the place was well lit indeed.
Store favorite and streetwear aficionado Mike was on hand to take some pictures. You can see some more party/bad diet pictures from Mike at akam1k3. The tee project has had well appreciated support from skate and snow big hitters such as Tacky and Playboard. Also from Norway’s leading art, culture, music, fashion website Kjefta and Norways biggest and best Hip Hop magazine Kingsize.

Hunting Lodge has been working closely in store with Whiteout on their custom and high end outerwear. Placing what is normally found in outdoor specific stores, alongside high end streetwear labels and designer led product.
Whiteout’s attention to detail and proven track record of producing the most technologically advanced and highest quality outerwear has made them the perfect partner for our first collaboration project.
The t-shirt’s design reflects the natural raw look of Norwegian heritage, keeping with Whiteout’s philosophy, and reflects the aesthetic of Hunting Lodge. For some time now, our loyal customers in Oslo have had the pleasure of picking up a fairly unknown but highly promising magazine called Milkandmoney. The periodical covers a wide range of interesting subjects such as fashion, design, photography, drawing, creative writing, music and politics. The people behind Milkandmoney have diverse backgrounds, but share a common love for the untouched, the pristine, the daring and the exclusive aspects of life. With the magazine, they want to spread the love for printed word and visual material, and push further the development of a creative and daring environment in the Norwegian capital.
From what we have heard, the people behind the magazine are working on the next edition, which is due mid October. It will of course be for sale in store, but you can also pick it up at other selected Oslo-stores.
