Øya Festival 2008

profilelement1.jpg

If you are planning a trip to Oslo then this week is the one to choose.
Øya is a city festival held in a medieval park surrounded by sandy beaches and the Oslo Fjords. Rooted deep in history, the medieval park is also the place where the capital of Norway was founded a thousand years ago.
As it’s a city festival you get to go home/to your hotel and get things together for the next day. Great news for the older slightly jaded festival goer.

Split across 4 stages the super eclectic line up features acts such as Grinderman, Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Turbonegro, N.E.R.D. Sigur Rós, The Sonics, Diplo, Cut Copy and the list goes on. See the full line up here.
The Bug feat Warrior queen have just been added to the lineup as a last minute replacement . If you have not heard them check this from Sonar. Heavy
After the festival the action continues in some of the cities finer venues. Too much to list but you cant go wrong heading down to the Villa, Blå or Fabrikken with the excellent Sunkissed at the helm.
Looking forward to this one. The crease down the front of my denims is razor sharp and ‘concert going’ leather jacket is at the ready.

During the festival Hunting Lodge will be giving a 15% discount on all products to anyone with a festival pass.
