For Autumn/Winter 2016, BEINGHUNTED., once again, set out to explore diverse cultural influences and artifacts. From ancient Chinese sculptures, a nod to 80s fashion, Japanese Shodo, to the Buddhas of Bamiyan in Afghanistan, the central theme is the timelessness of minimalistic and figurative visual concepts throughout history. Reflecting personal fields of interests of the team behind BEINGHUNTED., the series sets out to merge new but also vintage aesthetics to transport them straight to 2016 Berlin. The brand translates curiosity and open-mindedness into a set of clean graphics. The new BEINGHUNTED. look book is the result of a creative collaboration between stylist Shoko Kawaida who runs vintage boutique Townes in Berlin Mitte and photographer/model couple Joanna Krawczyk and Yosuke Kaneshiro. The trio chose one of the city’s lesser-known neighborhoods as the backdrop. On one sunny autumn day – possibly the last one for the rest of the year– this story was shot showcasing the full range of BEINGHUNTED.’s A/W items alongside iconic vintage pieces from Helmut Lang, Comme des Garçons, Raf Simons as well as army jackets and accessories. Based on BEINGHUNTED.’s creative brief, aesthetics from 1960s b/w street scenes to 1980s fashion editorials were re-interpreted and re-fined for a contemporary look.
