■Design

A basic, timeless, and simple crewneck sweatshirt from BEAMS PLUS, made in Japan. Features set-in sleeves and a standard ribbed cuff. The seamless tubular knit construction ensures a smooth and comfortable fit.

■Material

Made from a rare, old-fashioned "Azuma knitting machine," this is a domestically produced heavyweight terry cloth fabric using 30/30/7 count yarn. The reverse side of the yarn is brushed, creating a warm feel suitable for the autumn and winter seasons.

The Azuma knitting machine is one of the early knitting machines from the 1970s, when the industry transitioned from loopwheel knitting machines to high-speed knitting machines. It is a rare and highly valuable machine with few remaining examples. Furthermore, it has an extremely slow knitting speed, producing only about 1-2 rolls per day per machine, resulting in low productivity. This slow speed contributes to the soft, voluminous texture of the fabric.
